Everyone is friendly, helpful and definitely value for money from start to finish.
The elephants at the restaurant are a big bonus. The garden and surroundings are very beautiful and relaxing. The food was excellent! The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The massages at the spa were also excellent. It is a convenient one hour drive from Fourways, making the location very convenient for a weekend getaway. Will definitely go again.

From the delicious food, game drive where the guide shared a lot of knowledge, the spa to feed the Elephants on the grass on Sunday afternoon; everything was a celebration.
The food was probably not at the level expected for a 4-star establishment and the the general maintenance and upkeep needs a bit more attention.
Beautiful location, friendly staff, good food.
The menu needs an upgrade. The pastries are not fresh. The marmalade jars are sticky, to name but a few. I have travelled to more remote and secluded areas and experienced better restaurant quality food. There were hidden costs that were not told to me upfront and I had to pay even more when checking out - no transparency. All the staff were pleasant and accommodating, particularly the lady who cleaned my room and one specific lady in the restaurant. However, when checking out, the male (as he was no gentleman when dealing with me) was rude and arrogant towards me when I requested his assistance to explain the bill to me. At best I would rate this establishment at a 2 star and a possible upgrade to a 3 star purely because of its location and the fact that one can interact with the elephants.

Wat 'n besonderse ervaring. Askari verdien hulle sterre plus meer. Werkers was almal vriendelik en behulpsaam en goed opgelei om elke gas welkom en gemaklik te laat voel. Die restaurant was tops met heerlike etes. So welkome atmosfeer. William was uitstekend. Die spa is 'n plek om te besoek. Die wildsrit was 'n belewenis met Gibson die toergids wat al die diere so mooi beskryf, en kon almal se vrae met selfvertroue beantwoord. Amazing ervaring en naweek gehad. Dankie Askari volgende keer bring ek my hele familie saam.
Friendly service from beginning to end. Tour guide has a lot of knowledge regarding the animals and went to a lot of trouble for us. Was quiet and peaceful. We stayed in front by the dams and saw so many animals during the day that came past, we didn't even have to go looking. Elephants walked past just in front of our patio. Only negative comment I can make is that their reception isn't as impressive as those of other 4-star lodges that we've stayed in. But once again, I think the friendly staff makes up for it.
Beautiful place with clean, tidy accommodation. The spa and game drive are definitely must-do activities. Friendly and helpful staff and the food at the restaurant was delicious.
Really appreciated the tranquility and scenery. Staff are friendly helpful and room very modern neat and clean. Askari is one of my top 5 favorite destinations.
The spa treatments were just okay and need improvement. The massage felt rushed and was dissatisfied with the eyebrow tint and shape.

Askari Lodge's service, friendliness, accommodation and food were truly fantastic. We would definitely go here again for a weekend getaway.
We cannot complain about the accommodation itself. There was a problem with our reservation and they treated us completely like naughty children. We were received so awkwardly. When we arrived they said our reservation was for the next night. I then asked if we could spend the night and they were then able to find a room. They then only asked for one night and I said then that I wanted to book two nights. They said when I had to wait, they first had to check if there was room for the next night. My reservation was then for the next night. They put us in a standard chalet and we paid for the Garden Suite. They then did not explain anything further to us about it. The next day when we went down for breakfast, I could see that there were Garden Suites available with which they could help us. I specifically booked it because it was me and my sister and my two year old. The room was very cramped and not what I paid for. At least they could then also explain if it was about our reservation that was a problem. They could only say sorry and explain that they will put us in this room tonight and will move us or just let us pay for a standard chalet for the night. The restaurant is not child friendly at all. Again, no one told us to make alternative arrangements if you come with a child. The other guests gave us such a bad look because my two year old was very bored and there weren't exactly catering options. But the cute waiter and chef made a plan for her. We received very good service from William and Joshua. We checked out the next morning due to the discomfort at the restaurant. At least they didn't ask us extra for the night we had booked. We were grateful for that. We left a tip for them. The staff at reception hope I gave it to them. Askari is beautiful and has a lot of potential. The little bit of attention to detail will go a long way.
We really enjoyed it. It was relaxing and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back.
